1. Information we collect
When you use RateNest, we collect information you provide directly — such as your name, email, profile photo, reviews, ratings, posts, comments, and live stream content — and information generated as you use the app, including device information and approximate location when you enable it.
2. How we use your information
- Provide and improve the RateNest features (discovery map, reviews, live streams, notifications).
- Personalize the businesses and content shown to you nearby.
- Send push notifications you have opted into (new lives, nearby specials, review activity).
- Keep the service safe, prevent abuse, and enforce our Terms.
3. Location data
Location is used only when you enable it, to show businesses and services within your area on the Discover map. You can disable location access at any time in your device settings.
4. Sharing and third parties
RateNest uses trusted providers to operate the service, including Lovable Cloud (hosting, database, auth, storage), Google Maps Platform (maps and places data), and LiveKit (live video streaming). These providers process data only to deliver their part of the service.
5. Your content
Reviews, posts, ratings, and live streams you publish are visible to other users. You can edit or delete your own content at any time from your profile.
6. Data retention and deletion
We keep your account and content for as long as your account is active. Once you delete your account or individual content, we remove it from active use and delete it from our primary systems within 30 days.
Retention & legal notice
Even after deletion, some data may be retained for limited periods where we have a legal or compliance obligation, such as:
- Logs and security records may be kept for up to 90 days to investigate abuse, fraud, or security incidents.
- Financial or transaction records, if any, may be kept for the period required by applicable tax and accounting law.
- Data subject to a legal hold, court order, or government request may be preserved until the obligation ends.
Where retained, this information is minimized, access is restricted, and it is used only for the specific compliance purpose. Once the retention period or legal obligation ends, the data is deleted.
7. Children
RateNest is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
8. Your rights
Depending on your region, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal information, and to object to certain processing. Contact us to make a request.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated in the app.
